Gangut Regatta

Gangut Regatta rounds up the coast’s traditional sailing ships and big sailing vessels from the Baltic Sea area. Regatta is arranged in the memory of the Riilahti sea battle fought on the west side of Hankoniemi (27.7.1714). The Russian navy took its first victory of the Swedes. Gangut Regatta is a competition for the coast sailing ships which also features large Russian A-class ships. During the event the shores of Aurajoki is filled with programme, dozens of sailing ships and a unique summer atmosphere. This special feeling has been experienced many times before at Turku’s sailing ship events.
